Hand built from stoneware clay this Big Bud has a wonderful gritty surface enhanced by the addition of iron oxide in both a dilute and a saturated form, this combined with the addition of dry glazes and being fired in a reduction atmosphere gives the depth of colour I am after.

All my sculptural pieces are made from stoneware clay fired to 1260 degrees centigrade in a reduction kiln, so they are truly robust enough to live outdoors throughout the year.
