Wide Mouth Pot #WM1

Hand built from stoneware clay the Wide Mouth Pot has a smooth surface enhanced by the addition of engobes, the gouged band reveals the gritty texture of the clay which has been emphasised by the addition of a saturated solution of iron oxide, when fired in a reduction atmosphere gives the depth of colour I am looking for.

All my sculptural pieces are made from stoneware clay fired to 1260 degrees centigrade in a reduction kiln, so they are truly robust enough to live outdoors throughout the year.
